We are a community of faith that welcomes and embraces all of God’s people, regardless of age, color, gender, nationality, physical or mental ability, race, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.
Every member of our congregation is committed to serving God through being of service to others. We focus on helping the most vulnerable in our community including the disabled, senior, and unhoused, ministering to all with compassion, equality, and justice for all.
We hold Sunday worship service in our Sanctuary and via Zoom at 3:30 pm and via Zoom-only every last Sunday of the month.
We believe in God, the Eternal Spirit, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father, and to his deeds, we testify:
He calls the worlds into being, creates man in His own image, and sets before Him the ways of life and death.
He seeks in holy love to save all people from aimlessness and sin.
He judges man and nations by His righteous will declared through prophets and apostles.
In Jesus Christ the man of Nazareth, our crucified and risen Lord, He has come to us and shared our common lot, conquering sin and death and reconciling the world to Himself.
He bestows upon us His Holy Spirit, creating and renewing the Church of Jesus Christ, binding in covenant, faithful people of all ages, tongues, and races.
He calls us into His Church to accept the cost and joy of discipleship, to be His servants in the service of men, to proclaim the gospel to all the world, and resist the powers of evil, to share in Christ’s baptism and eat at His table, to join Him in His passion and victory.
He promises to all who trust His forgiveness of sins and fullness of grace, courage in the struggle for justice and peace, His presence in trial and rejoicing, and eternal life in His kingdom which has no end.
We are united in striving to know the will of God as taught in the Holy Scriptures, and in our purpose to walk in the ways of the Lord, made know or to be made known to us.
We hold it to be the mission of the Church to proclaim the gospel to all mankind, exalting the worship of the one true God and laboring for the progress of knowledge, the promotion of justice, the reign of peace, and the realization of human brotherhood and sisterhood.
Depending, as did our ancestors, upon the continued guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth, we work and pray for the transformation of the world into the kingdom of God, and we look with faith for the triumph of righteousness and the life everlasting.
Rev Lynch, or Leo as everyone calls him, served as a U.S. Armed Services Chaplain for over 20 years, and a credentialed minister with the United Church of Christ for just as long. Since 2014, he's been affiliated with the Congregational Church of Chatsworth helping out as a Supply Pastor whenever the need arose. When the Church found itself without a Pastor again during the pandemic, he generously stepped in to volunteer his services, preaching the Gospel to our Congregation and providing the spiritual support we needed to get through a very difficult time. Then in August of last year, our Church was blessed when he answered the call to become our settled Pastor.
Today Leo is active in all aspects of our church life -- volunteering in our food pantry, FISH of West Valley, ministering to our unhoused neighbors through homeless outreach efforts, helping out at our regularly hosted Covid-19 vaccination clinics, heading work parties for clean-up of church grounds, and representing our church at all community events. He has strengthened our ties within our church with his easy-going North Carolina manner, a strong commitment to biblical teaching, and a deep interest in engaging all age groups with down-to-earth, real-life examples of how the congregation can put scripture into action in our lives.
Under his leadership, our Congregation continues committed to harmonious activities, and in fellowship with all from ages 2 to 92. as we serve our Lord and care for our community in need.
Our food ministry has served the community for over 50 years
